The Weekend....

Well we had a very busy weekend last weekend at the Ward household....So much, that it has taken me all week to get it loaded uploaded for all to see.....

Friday was spent throwing a 13th birthday party for Andrew. Being he is now a "Teenager" I thought it best to have a party to remember for him. So he knew he was having a party, but he thought it was an overnight at the house. What he did not know, was that it was an overnight at The Drury Hotel off of Tiffany Springs & I-29. We did this so he could have a swim party. He has said often that he wishes he was born in the summer so he could have a pool party. So we did the next best thing, rented a hotel room where there was an indoor/outdoor pool. We had to pick up a couple of boys and when we picked up the last one, I proceeded to blindfold him and took the back roads all the way there to surprise him. He was completely surprised and had a wonderful time.

Saturday, I worked for Annie at Social Suppers, then Doug, Braydon & I headed up to Weston to the State Park where we were married and took anniversary pictures, or at least we tried. This year we got more pictures of Braydon & Doug them Doug & I..... Braydon was quite the grumpy little guy. He clung to Daddy and pushed Mommy away, and when I had Doug put him down to take a picture of just the two of us, he was at our feet screaming at us. So, we got a couple of good pictures and a lot of funny looking ones.

Sunday afternoon, I took Alex to English Landing Park in Downtown Parkville and took his first set of Senior pictures. Braydon was with us and was the complete opposite of yesterday with Doug & I.... He wanted to be in every picture and was quite the "HAM".... He was so cute following Big Brother Alex around and trying to sit like him or right next to him. I go several pictures that are just priceless.

Sunday evening we carved our pumpkins for the front porch on Wednesday. Andrew did a skeleton and Doug & Braydon did a cat. Doug did a great job and them Braydon came along and pulled the tail and head off of the cat..... We tried to toothpick what we could back on. Oh well, we did have fun and Braydon really was just trying to help and be a big boy.

Well, that toped off our fun filled weekend last weekend. Hope yours was just as fun!

Priss (or as Braydon says Kriss)

Welcome to our newest addition to our home. She is a beautiful kitty and she is from Katty Shack. Her name is Priss, she is doing very well blending with the family so far... The only things so far is Braydon can not say Priss, it comes out Kriss.... So here are the pictures of our beautiful addition. She is staying in Andrew's room right now, and as you can see, she is not shy of him, as she is lying right there with him as he fell asleep.

Wine Dinner in September

We had another wonderful wine dinner with friends back in September.... Yes, I know this is a bit late, but sometimes, I just get going, and then things just get buried to the bottom of the pile... Well, this morning, I have a quiet house this morning, as everyone is still in their beds sleeping away. So here I am trying to get some new pictures for all! Anyway, where was I, Oh Yeah, Wine Dinner... We had Jon & Jessie Crow and Danny & Annie Mock (and Dylan), came over for a Wine Dinner. Now Braydon & Dylan did not participate in the wine part, but they were there. We had a girl over who tried to help watch the boys so the adults could eat, drink and converse.... So, We all made our own kabobs for dinner that Doug grilled for us. We then sat around, sipped some wonderful wine and chatted, then we had a wonderful chocolate dessert that Annie brought.

Here Jon is showing off a wonderful new vintage for 2007, and a new glass that you can get it in that makes you sip it.... Because it is SO good, and you would gulp it without this new glass! Thank You Jon for showing us just how to sip this 2007 vintage!

Here are the kabobs and extra veggies on the grill. Doug was in Heaven having this much food on his grill, and I know he was probably thinking, I really do need a new BIGGER grill.... Well, Honey, this one is just right for us and will do for another year or two.
Dylan was showing off either a new dance step or a new hop... Too much wine between taking the picture to now to remember, but I thought it was cute and took a picture, so I must share!
Jon & Jessie.... Jon has obviously had a little too much of that new 2007 vintage because he looks to be serenading Jessie, but she is smiling, so it must not be too bad! I actually got to be in the picture.... Thank You Danny!Hey Jon, Yes I see you peeking around Jessie.Dylan and Braydon saying hello to Grandma... Dylan was trying to tickle her feet.... But she is not too tickelish is she Dylan. Dylan, you are upside down!!! "I know, that is why I am hollaring" But laughing at the same time!
Doug & Braydon & Dylan & Danny.... Annie, are they not all just too cute! OK - Jon has been a clown all night, and here he is finishing the night off on the way out the door, Sure glad Jessie has good tastes in purses!
Thank You for coming over and I look forward to the 10th at Annie & Danny's!

Katty Shack

Katty Shack

A small, but special cat & kitten rescue.

Doug & I found Katty Shack on Friday night. Andrew, Braydon & I went back up there tonight to work out some details for us to volunteer... We can not wait to get going... Even after being there for an hour & a half tonight, we were ready to go back as we were driving away.

They are a non-profit kat & kitten rescue. So for those that are looking for a new addition for their family, come and see what Katty Shack has to offer!!!

Rock Chalk Jay Hawk!!!

Braydon, Andrew & I attended our first KU Football game this weekend. Yes, Doug was there, but it was not his first..... Because my work had extra tickets, I got some that ended up being used by Tracy & Caleb, Andrew's Dad & Step-Brother.

It was a great experience, from the Chanting of the crowd, to the "waving wheat" (fans waving their hands when KU scored), to the Gong sounding when KU scored... And of course KU won over Baylor, 58-10, which for the die hard fans - That puts KU's record at 6-0!!!

To start the morning off we got into Lawrence around 9:00am, had breakfast at the KU Alumni Building, got serenaded by part of the KU Band (actually everyone there, not just us). They played several different songs including the KU Fight song, which the audience chanted to.... Of course it was a RAINY day, so we headed over to the Union building to walk around and wait for game time.... Which ended up being delayed until 12:00, then the rain kept coming, so it was delayed again until 1:00.... So Andrew, Doug and Braydon bowled in the JayBowl bowling alley. It was so cute to watch them! Of course, I had left my camera in the car due to the rain, so I have no pictures of this. So finally the rain let up and the kick-off happened at 1:00. Then partway through the 1st quarter, there was a 20 minute lightening delay. Once that passed, the game resumed with a light cool wind and a sprinkle here and there. So we were bundled up in two and three layers to stay warm and dry. But with KU playing SO WELL, we really did not mind the weather! Partway thru the game Braydon was getting grumpy, so I sat him on my lap and rocked him to sleep, he did sleep for about 45 minutes. He then was awake and happy the rest of the time we were there. We left with 10 minutes left on the clock so we could beat some of the crowd. All-in-All, it was a fun filled day, that wore Braydon (& the rest of us) out.
Oh Yeah - One more cute thing... After his little nap, he saw the Jay Hawk Mascot and started saying "Hawkie, Daddy, Hawkie, Daddy" and pointing down towards the field. It was really cute when we realized what he was saying and pointing at!

OK - Here are some shots!
